Do you battle cluttered countertops and overly full cabinets? It seems we could always use a little more kitchen space!
Every kitchen is different, with some having more flexibility than others, and every family has their own unique organization personality. But, no matter what type of organizer you are, if you’re anything like me, you probably appreciate any tips you can find to help you manage what you have more efficiently.
Here are some of my favorite tips for maximizing every inch of kitchen space.
Shelves
Look for unused wall space to hang shelves for additional storage.
And More Shelves
Use adjustable shelves to maximize your storage space to hold items like vases and jugs.
Baskets
Use matching baskets to hold non-refrigerated produce such as onion, garlic, and potatoes.
S Hooks
Mount a stainless-steel bar with S hooks to hang a spice rack, utensils, or even pots and pans. You can also use a magnetic knife strip as well, but remember to keep out of reach of children.
Butcher Block
DIY a butcher block surface if you don’t already have one. This useful piece can double as a heat-resistant island and a cutting board, as well as hold extra storage.
Creative Space
Substitute a dish drainer with an over-the-sink or wall-mounted variety.
Matching
Buy matching place sets. Having matching items will help your kitchen look organized and clean.
Bright Space
Paint the walls. Lighter colors help the space seem bigger.
Double Duty
Free up drawer space by using the kitchen table. Place flatware in a caddy in the center of the table.
Mount Up
Save counter space by mounting small appliances, like a microwave, coffeemaker, or toaster, under upper cabinets.
